This week, the UK will host the 26th UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP26) in Glasgow. The summit will bring parties together to accelerate action towards the goals of the Paris Agreement and the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change.

COP26 provides one of the last opportunities for the world to work together to solve our climate concerns. We really are the first generation to understand the problem but the last to act.

East Suffolk also has a part to play, and we continue to deliver our vison of not only reducing our own carbon footprint, encouraging others to do the same but also treasuring and protecting our natural habitats.

I am delighted to attach a letter signed by representatives of all groups at East Suffolk confirming our commitment to work together to do as much as we can to solve the climate emergency. This letter has also been sent to our town and parish clerks.

Legislation through Westminster and changes in our own behaviour all contribute to heal the planet and together we can make a difference.
