East Suffolk Conservatives have published their manifesto for East Suffolk ahead of the local elections on Thursday 2nd May 2019.
'Towards a thriving East Suffolk’ pledges to enable communities to thrive – allowing them to take back control through new Community Partnerships - encourage jobs and growth with support for apprenticeships and a new Youth Employment Service, and help make home ownership a reality for more people, by enabling a Rent-to-Buy scheme in the district, and supporting the development of more affordable housing.
The manifesto builds on the excellent work already undertaken by the Conservative administrations at Suffolk Coastal and Waveney District Councils, as they move to the new East Suffolk Council. Continuing improvements to leisure facilities will run alongside a focus on managing our precious coastline and ‘doing the basics’ by providing value-for-money services.
Publishing the manifesto, Mark Bee and Ray Herring said:
"The creation of a new council, the largest district council in the country, provides a great opportunity to put East Suffolk on the map.
"Our Conservative vision for the next four years, and beyond, puts people and their communities first. It provides the ambition and determination needed: ambition for homes and jobs, determination to invest in thriving communities, excellent leisure and cultural facilities, and a firm commitment to cherish our natural environment.
"At the same time we will continue to provide first-rate, value-for-money services. Above all, we are ambitious for East Suffolk, and determined to see it thrive.”
District elections take place between 7am and 10pm on Thursday 2nd May 2019.
